Fin had told him if he came and got his physical, he could see rabbits. That Hex knew where the rabbits were and would take him to them, if he let them look at him and take some blood.

Fawn had been reluctant, but the promise of rabbits was enough to send the other twin off to medical

Stepping inside, he peeked around.

"I'm here to offer blood for rabbits," he announced.

"I like wild," Fawn replied. "Wild is how we should all be."

Hex called the floor and stood, patiently waiting. The doors opened to a new hall and Hex led him to another set of doors. The parted and the pair was greeted with a humid, warm room absolutely bursting with plants. Those that weren't in bloom were all fruiting.

A woman peeked from behind a banana plant. Her hair was bright red and her skin a verdant green.

"Stay on the paths," she cautioned, then ducked back behind the plant nervously.

"That flower was talking to us," Fawn whispered. "Should we go say hello?"

"You can try, but everyone says she's really shy," Hex said, giving her a nudge toward her.

Fawn was not shy and walked right over.

"Hello. I am Fawn," he said, looking unsure and then offering his hand like humans did.

Hex kept close, but back just a bit.

She looked at Fawn, looked at his hand, then reached for it to touch lightly.

"I'm...Ivy," she said quietly. And then she gripped him. "It's not witchcraft, I promise. I just talk to them."

"I don't know what that is," Fawn replied simply, and shamelessly. "You talk to plants though? Me too. ...Or I did, back home. ...You make them grow?" he asked curiously.

"I do," she nodded. "I can make them do anything. But mostly I just make them grow and produce enough to feed people."

She reached over and touched a leaf, and all up the vine, flowers burst into bloom, withered, fell, and fruit began to swell and ripen before him.

Fawn looked impressed, glancing back at Hex and then stepping closer to her and speaking softly in hopes the other man wouldn't hear.

"I have seeds from my home I wish to grow, but have no place to plant them. I'm told I shouldn't have them, but... Our kind use them in traditional drinks to celebrate and to heal our hearts if they are ever broken. Some are like mushrooms, some are like fruits..."

"If you bring them to me, I can grow them," she said softly. "And you can tend them the way they need. I'd like to see new plants."

She smiled, but ducked her chin and looked away shyly.

Fawn beamed and nodded. "I will bring them," he promised- Excited, even though part of him knew Fin would be cross.

"I'll make a bed just for you, Fawn," she said. Then she peeked around the plants and saw Hex had wandered off to admire some flowers.

"That's the nurse that wanted to take my blood," she told Fawn softly. "I didn't let him."

"No? ...I let him take mine," he said, looking worried now. "He is close with my brother. ...And Fin is smart, and Fin says he is kind and wont hurt me. He calls him a healer."

"I don't like doctors. They took me to find out what was wrong with me. But I got away and now I'm here," she confessed. She hadn't told anyone, not that anyone really tried to talk to her...not that she ever came out to talk to anyone else, either.

Fawn listened, frowning in concern before recalling something and peeking up.

"Hex meant a not a doctor, he's a nurse," he explained.

[hex_schofield]

"It doesn't matter," she replied. "I like it here. I want to stay. I'm quiet. I'm not hurting anyone," she insisted.

Vines began to slither out of her hair and wrapped around her arms and shoulders as she took comfort from the embrace.

"You can explore. But stay on the paths."

Fawn watched, then nodded before returning to Hex's side.

"Have you seen anything fun?"

"These cool flowers!" Hex said, showing Fawn some dangling clusters. "They make noise, listen."

He touched them lightly with a fingertip and they tinkled like little bells.

"Pretty," Fawn purred. "It smells so nice in here. Out there feels so- Fake. False."

[hex_schofield]

"Well...it's alive, yeah?" he clarified. That was why he liked it.

"Yeah, and this ship is full of life, but it's- Clean? That's not the word," he said, frowning to himself.

[hex_schofield]

"Sterile," he supplied. "The ship has a cleaning and filtration system that keeps it almost completely pure. Keeps us all healthy."

[fawnthefae]

"It's dumb and I hate it," Fawn replied. "Dirt is important."

[hex_schofield]

"Dirt is dangerous for all the computer things," he shrugged.

[fawnthefae]

"Dumb computers," Fawn replied.
