Apparently the fish man only brought fish, and the pizza man only pizza. If they wanted a fan they had to go to Asda. Fawn didn't know what an Asda was, but the building was big and people were leaving with carts full of stuff. Exciting!

Inside they were greeted by a large display of plush bears, and fawn gasped.

"Friends. We should free them."

"Like what?" Fawn asked, instantly drawn to a display of ice pops.

[petty_dabbler]

"I could cook bangers and mash," he offered. "Sausage and potatoes. I think you'll like it."

Wordlessly, he put the box of pops in the basket.

"Okay," Fawn replied, even though he wasn't sure what that was. John had shown him many good things, he trusted him. "What else do you want? I have my card, I can make the machine beep for you."

"Maybe some bread," he replied thoughtfully. Left to his own devises, John ate the same five things, when he remembered to eat at all.

"And we still need a whirly cooling fan thing," the fae noted cheerfully.

John looked around, but he was a bit lost.

"I think we need to go this way," he said. "We need dishes and pan's yeah? The ones I have stay with the flat."

[fawnthefae]

"Oh. Yes. I found an ice box and a stove- Though it is wood burning. I have connected power though! We should get the mini-wave machine too. Homes need very much, don't they?" Fawn noted.

[petty_dabbler]

"Homes don't need much at all," John replied. "You can get by fine with just a roof and a few friends. But all these things are really nice to have. These are the sausages I mean. Trust me, you'll like it."

"I trust you," Fawn assured him, smiling softly.

Picking out the food went quickly, the John started toward the kitchenware. In the middle of the aisle was a display.

"Think we should get some birdseed for the new neighbors?" John joked.

[fawnthefae]

"Oh, yes, it would be nice to befriend birds," Fawn nodded.

Behind him something fell off a shelf, and the fae flinched and turned to hiss as the tumbling packets of cat treats.

A woman shrieked and jerked her child back. A couple teens laughed and stuck out their phones.

John rushed to his side.

"Calm down. Don't bite anyone," he said quietly. "See? Just fell off the shelf. Come on."

Fawn still looked tense, but he slowly relaxed.

"Sorry," he said softly.

John flipped off the teen with the phone as he brought Fawn back to the trolley.

"Alright?" he asked. "If this is too much we can go. I can pick things up here and there."

"No, I can do this, I am okay," Fawn insisted. "I'll be good," he promised.

"Okay, love," he said, kissing the top of his head before putting his arm around him to guide him away.

Faw was more subdued the rest of the way around the shop, though he did perk up a little when he picked out a pretty teal coloured fan.

By the time they checked out and he'd tricked the machine into beeping, he seemed tired.

"I will give you directions," he said as he climbed into the freshly loaded up car.

John followed them to the letter and rolled up to a park. By a stroke of luck there was a space near the gate and he parked.

"Am I in the right spot?" he said. I don't see..."

Fawn waved his hand, and the magic shimmered- Revealing their home to John. No one else would see, only those they showed.

It was charming, like something plucked from a fairy tale. A Disney one, not an original.

"Say," he smiled. "Alright. You outdid yourself, love. This is lovely."

Fawn puffed up with pride. The cottage wasn't much, barely bigger than a studio apartment, but it was theirs.

"Let's take our new goods inside."

John took it as a personal challenge to carry as much as he could in one go. The inside of the cottage was perfect. John never wanted much room and everything here had the perfect place for everything they'd need.

"Home sweet home, eh?" John said, admiring the bed. It would be flash with that velvet blanket.

"I love it."

"Truly? It's not too small?" the fae asked, starting to put things away.

John had put down his bags and stepped up to Fawn to pull him close to kiss him, first quickly on the lips, then on his forehead.

"It's perfect," he assured him softly.

Fawn purred happily, tilting his head to steal just one more kiss.

"In time we can make it bigger," the fae noted. "A place below, perhaps."
